Why not help others enjoy your favourite activity?

Bicycle Victoria needs more volunteers to put on the really Great, Great Victorian Bike Ride. Enjoy working with 5000 riders ... 500 other volunteers, making it all happen. This year, it's nearly 600 kilometres from Portland in Western Victoria to Geelong over nine days.

And don't forget, as a volunteer, you will get far more out of it than you will put into it.

So go on, volunteer for Australia's greatest Great Bike Ride! Check it out here!

As a volunteer on the Great Victorian Bike Ride, you will be helping to get more people cycling and enjoying this activity - just like you do.

What do volunteers get on the Great Vic?

For a start, there's free transport to and from Melbourne (for full-time volunteers)

All your meals are included

A free tent is supplied, and it and your luggage are transported to the next site free of charge.

You'll get a free uniform - a hat, shirts, a water bottle.

What can you do?

The Great Vic is made up of many small, dedicated teams of volunteers who work together to make it all happen smoothly.

There are roles in marshalling, driving, route control, activities (putting on entertainment each evening), catering to make sure all the riders are well fed, there's the media team producing a daily newsletter and producing their own radio shows, and many other activities around the campsites.
The benefits of volunteering

Volunteers make the ride happen ... and they make it lots of fun - fun for themselves, and fun for the other 5000 riders.

There are endless benefits to volunteering on one of these great bike rides. Most of the benefits are personal, such as enjoying the new friendships you will make, mixing with like-minded people, or just giving something back to others.

You'll meet new people

You'll develop life-long friendships

You'll probably learn new skills, or you will be able to call on your existing skills

You'll give back to the community and help others enjoy everything that you take for granted ... a great bike ride, camping ... cycle touring ... mixing with like-minded people ...

You'll enjoy the great teamwork and the camaraderie

And we can guarantee you will have loads and loads of FUN!
